Have you every been on a trip with your little one and wondered if there was an easier, safer, or more practical way to travel with your little one. Well BabySafeTravel.com is a website design to help you with your baby travel experiences and yes they can help make your trip easier, safer, and more practical.

The stroy goes that the whole site started over a bad experience at a specific hotel hotel chain. The website owners took their baby with them on one of their business trips. They brought all of the essentials and wanted to use the hotels “crib” or “pack n play” for their baby to sleep in (Can we all say bad idea here). The hotel brought up a very trashy bed for their baby. The mother then I called the front desk to requested another more suitable play-yard, and the staff brought up yet another even worse bed.

Anyway I don’t want to keep boring you so go check it out over at BabySafeTravel.com.

You know when your baby is first born you hold them and look at them and are just in “aw” of them. That doesn’t change as they grow older. I still find myself just staring at my son being in “aw” of him at six months old. As they begin to grow, as a mom, you notice the slightest change. It’s amazing to watch them and just wonder what are they thinking. They look so intently at objects, absorbing all information possible, and their eyes tell a story.

As your baby grows he/she will begin to engage in playing with toys, and looking at other people when they talk, really interacting with you and other people. They begin to develop a personality of their own. Watching them discover parts of their body like their fingers, toes, nose, and ears is quite funny. My son puts his toes in his mouth and it’s the cutest thing. Good thing he gets a bath almost every night. But at six months old how dirty can he really get.

My son is at an age now where he is really beginning to like to play, not only with me and my husband, but his grandparents and other family members, as well. He is ticklish and giggles when you tickle him. He is now learning to wave “hey” and “bye”. He says “hey”, but only when it’s just me and my husband around. Being able to see definite milestones being reached is a wonderful thing. It just means my baby won’t be a baby forever and that, in some ways, is sad. It just makes you realize how much you need to enjoy them while they are little because they don’t stay that way.

Every mother is a working mother, whether it be in and out of the home or just in the home. I wonder if it’s easier to have a set routine if you are a stay-at -home mom, or since life can get so hectic working out of the home is it essential to have that routine down. Either way having a set routine is difficult to figure out. I am trying to get on a regular schedule so my son can begin to learn what to expect as the day goes on. For now I am a stay-at-home mom but I will be having to work part-time soon so I am trying to get him on a schedule that works for him now. But once I return to work somewhere I don’t want his routine messed up. I know children adjust better than we think they do, so I really don’t know what I am worried about. I think it’s more of the fact that I have been fortunate enough to spend all six months of his life with him and I am a little uncomfortable leaving him for long periods of time. My frets are probably just apart of what I call “first time mom syndrome”.

I do, however, what to give a “shout out” to all the out of the home working momma’s because you are giving up time with your children to provide for them and that gets overlooked a lot of times. You some how figure out how to get your son to baseball practice and your daughter to dance in the middle of meeting a deadline for work, and nine times out of ten your children get a home cooked meal and you sit down together to eat. Let’s not forget about the household duties either, clothes are clean and dishes are washed. Just being a mom is a 24/7 job, and it’s the best job a woman could ever have. So whether you have a set routine/schedule or not as long as at the end of the day your children are happy and loved what difference does it make.

When you first bring your baby home from the hospital you sit in the back seat with them and watch over them. They normally sleep the whole way home, so you are on edge for no reason. You worry about if they are in their seat correctly, if they will cry the whole way home, different things cross your mind. For the first few weeks, or maybe even months, you sit in the back with your baby, just so you can keep an eye on them. Well, have you ever wondered if this is why when you finally move back to the front seat your baby cries the whole time they are in the car? I experienced this for about two months. My son was fine in his car seat when he was first born and even up to about three months old. But, then after four months he just cried every time we went somewhere and I was sitting in the front seat again, instead of in the back with him. He got used to seeing my face and me talking to him on car rides that when I started sitting in the front seat again he got upset. He would sometimes literally cry until (a) we got to where we were going or (b) I got in the backseat with him.

But, there is an upside to this story. Now, at six months old I have discovered as long as I give him a toy, usually one that plays music and a stuffed toy he likes, he will play with those and not care if I am back there with him or not. I still talk to him to let him know I am in the car even though he can’t see me. He has now become very vocal and he will squeel and “talk” in the car. So if you are experiencing a similar problem hang in there and remember this to shall pass. It does get easier. And you will begin to be able to sit in the front seat with your husband again and actually have an adult conversation.

Even as a mom we all have our days when we are sick, feel under the weather, or are just plain worn out. Have you ever noticed on those days your baby or child doesn't want to take a nap, or if he/she does it's those ten and twenty minute cat naps. It seems just as you get them to sleep and lay them down and then you yourself get layed back in the recliner, or even in the bed, your child goes to crying for one reason or another. So, then you are back up and you are either a)giving them back their passy so they will go back to sleep, or b)getting them up and kissing your little window of rest goodbye.

Even as a mom we all have our days when we are sick, feel under the weather, or are just plain worn out. Have you ever noticed on those days your baby or child doesn’t want to take a nap, or if he/she does it’s those ten and twenty minute cat naps.

Now don’t get me wrong, we still put the child’s needs first even when we are sick. That is where the “Mommy Adrenaline” comes in. Some how, no matter how we feel, our child gets all the love and attention we can give them. We find the strength to get on the floor and play with them and take them outside for a walk. We make sure they are fed and clean. When we have these days we are thankful for bedtime and are ready to go to bed as soon as the baby goes to bed. Then, we just pray they sleep longer than the ten to twenty minutes we experienced through the day.

Who knows where this “Mommy Adrenaline” comes from. Maybe when we first learn we are pregnant it starts accumilating so it’s there after the child is born. Maybe it’s when you think you just can’t make yourself go any more it kicks in. Or maybe, just maybe, all those prayers you prayed before, during, and after pregnancy are being answered.
