Uncooked Play Dough Activity

This is a fun activity that parents can do with their toddler and you can use some common items found in your pantry to make it.

Ingredients

3 cups of flour

1 cup salt

1 tbsp. Wesson oil

2/3 cups water

Food coloring

Mix flour and salt together. Mix food coloring with oil and water, or mix powder paint with salt and water. Add oil and water mixture gradually to flour mixture. Knead as you would dough until the mixture is smooth and easy to handle. Add more flour as needed as child plays with it.

Play dough will keep several weeks in refrigerator if placed in air tight wrapping. (plastic bag or Saran wrap)

I have made this and it does work. I did have to add flour as the children played with it to keep it from sticking to them. I also had a few tools for them to use with the play dough such as, a bottle top, a spoon, or a rolling pin.

This is something that I can do with my neice and she can even help me mix everything together. Then when my nephew gets old enough we can do this with him. Great Activity to do!

I remember doing something similar as a child. I think I would enjoy doing this with my son. Oh and I think the Author has great ideas and should keep these suggestions coming.
